Class 005

Class #005

Meditation - focus is on combination actions. Focus your mind on being flexible, ready to execute a variety of combination actions.

Warm up - perform a 10 minute warm up combining stretching and activity to warm up the body for exercise.

Combination Basic Actions - Perform 10 of each basic combinations. Return to ready between actions and alternate left and right actions moving forward and turning.

The primary training objective - is to learn to begin to combine various basic actions and note areas that seem difficult, note these and practice these later.

Order for Combination Basic Actions:

NOTE: For all basic actions add a lead hand back fist, reverse punch to the solar plexus and a lead leg front kick, after the kick set foot back in original position.

Stance - Front Set
Low Defense - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
High Defense - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Solar Plexus Punch - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Outside to In Block - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Front kick - back fist, reverse punch, front kick

Stance - Horse Ride
Horse Ride Punch - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Side Kick - back fist, reverse punch, front kick

Stance - Back Set
Open Hand Low Defense - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Open Hand High Defense - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Inside to Out Block - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Round House Kick - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Reverse Kick - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Reverse Action ( do normal with no extra combination )

NOTE: all kicks are done with lead leg, lift lead leg to raised knee position and then execute the kick and set kicking foot back into proper stance.

Extra Kick Combo's - all from front set stance kicking with lead leg.
Outside to in crescent - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Inside to out crescent - back fist, reverse punch, front kick
Hook Kick - back fist, reverse punch, front kick

Meditation - today's focus is on Horse Ride stance. Start by visualizing yourself in a good horse ride stance, what do the muscles feel like, how does the weight distribution feel and what internal check points do you have to know your in a good stance. Now shift the visualization to look at yourself from the outside, imagine how you should look, see the key points of the stance and keep this vision of yourself for the following workout.

Warm up - perform a 10 minute warm up combining stretching and activity to warm up the body for exercise.

Basic Actions - Perform 10 of each basic action techniques in a Horse Ride stance. Return to ready between actions and alternate left and right actions moving forward and turning.

The primary training objective - is to learn to feel and properly execute all techniques from a horse ride stance. If you discover areas that seem difficult, note these and practice these later.

NOTE: For all basic actions add a reverse punch to the solar plexus and a rear leg front kick, after the kick return foot to rear foot position. ( this will allow you to alternate left and right properly )

High Defense - reverse punch, rear leg front kick
Solar Plexus Punch - reverse punch, rear leg front kick
Outside to In Block - reverse punch, rear leg front kick
Front kick - reverse punch, rear leg front kick

Horse Ride Punch - reverse punch, rear leg front kick ( make sure to step back into horse ride stance )
Side Kick - reverse punch, rear leg front kick

Class Session #001

Meditation – today’s focus is on breathing, feel each breath and begin to feel the air flow. Notice the cycle of inhale and exhale and how they become one fluid motion.

Warm up – perform a 10 minute warm up combining stretching and activity to warm up the body for exercise.

Basic Actions – Perform 10 of each basic action’s in the following manner. Inhale during the fix and feel the air filling your lungs, this should be a slow relaxed movement. Sharply Exhale on the action, the goal on the action is that each one should be breaking a 1” board. Use maximum power for the technique and then relax again and begin the cycle again. SPEED of repetition is not important – the influence is on breathing.

Forms Practice – continue with the theme for training “Breathing” this should be the primary focus of your forms practice today. Slow down your form and inhale completely on the fix movements then sharply exhale and explode into each action. This form should take much longer than usual to perform as your breathing is the main element for timing.
